The Fervor, King's Daughters & Sons
Pour Haus: King’s Daughters & Sons, The Fervor; August 31, 2007
Joe Manning brings his new band, King's Daughters & Sons, to the Pour Haus tonight, and it's a Louisville super-group. Manning will be joined by Rachel Grimes (piano), Todd Cook (bass), Kyle Crabtree (drums) and Mike Heineman (guitar). Among them, they've performed in the Rachels, Shipping News, Rodan, Slint and The Grand Prize.
They'll perform some new songs for a record to be released under the King's Daughters & Sons name. Manning fans will recognize the basic sound -- all shadows and sharp corners -- but it has been expanded exponentially without growing busy or obtrusive.
"It's simple but still sounds very full," Manning said.
